As the summer heat approaches, many homeowners are already considering turning on their Denver HVAC systems. If you are one of these homeowners, make sure to perform thorough cleaning on your HVAC before starting it – without that, you risk health issues caused by improperly working filters and appliance breakdown as well. Here are the tasks that you should not neglect:
- Filter change and replacement – some filters in your HVAC can be cleaned, while others need to be replaced. Use your appliance’s manual to locate all the filters and to find out which of the two categories each of them belongs to, then clean them or dispose of them as suggested in the manual;
- Clean the vents and other openings – your HVAC system probably has lots of vents and other openings, inside the home as well as on the outdoor unit. Inspect and clean each of them and ensure that nothing around them blocks the movement of air;
- Clean the coils and the electronic components – you can use a vacuum cleaner to remove any build-up of dust and dirt;
- Clear the area around the outdoor unit – remove any vegetation in a 2-feet area surrounding the outdoor unit to make sure that the unit can operate without any obstacles.
